Yesterday, when the journalist visited Wuyue Plaza, the journalist noticed that the car sales exhibition area was bustling. "Since January this year, our sales have been on the rise, thanks to the holiday economy," the sales manager at the Lixiang counter at Wuyue Plaza told the journalist. Many citizens have come to inquire about the "trade-in" subsidy policy, hoping to purchase new cars through policy stacking.

In 2024, our city actively responded to the national policy of implementing large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in programs, diligently fulfilling the government's "real money" subsidies. As a result, retail sales of household appliances and passenger vehicles continued to rise. Data shows that in 2024, the city's trading entities achieved a total retail sales of consumer goods of RMB 133.754 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. Among them, limited-above trading entities achieved retail sales of consumer goods of RMB 52.473 billion, up 5.9% year on year. Both new energy vehicles and household appliances showed double-digit growth.

Household appliance sales exhibit new characteristics of energy efficiency and intelligence. During the visit to the Xiaomi store, the journalist observed a growing interest among citizens in smart homes. "Our home is equipped with smart home devices throughout. In the morning, I can put rice in the rice cooker, and when I get home, I can enjoy hot meals," a citizen surnamed Wang told the journalist. Their new home, spanning 120 square meters, is fully equipped with smart home devices costing less than RMB 30,000. They can enjoy convenient services such as automatic lighting when entering the home and automatic cleaning when leaving, similar to having a housekeeper. Through the "two new" policies, their family saved nearly RMB 5,000, which is very cost-effective. Stimulated by the "trade-in" policy, in 2024, the retail sales of limited-above household appliances and audio-visual equipment in our city reached RMB 1.235 billion, up 24.9% year on year. Among them, retail sales of products with energy efficiency grades of 1 and 2 increased by 24.3%, while retail sales of smart household appliances and audio-visual equipment surged by 47.7%. The growth rate in December exceeded 80%. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Statistics stated that according to statistics, energy-efficient and smart household appliances are currently favored, especially by young people who are important supporters of the "trade-in" policy. They are familiar with the policy and willing to spend.

New energy vehicle consumption has become a hot topic. In 2024, sales of conventional fuel vehicles in our city paled in comparison to those of new energy vehicles. "This year, our focus is still on new energy vehicles," said Xu, the general manager of Xincheng Holding Haizhou Wuyue Plaza during the interview at the plaza. To embrace the national policy dividends such as the "trade-in" program, we have designated the central area of the plaza as a new energy vehicle zone, where high-end brands like Lixiang and Avatr have all set up shop, becoming a hot spot for sales at the plaza. Not only at Wuyue Plaza but also at commercial complexes like Suning and Wanda, the occupancy rate of new energy vehicle brands such as Zeekr, BYD Ocean, and Huawei is very high. It can be said that buying cars at commercial complexes is becoming a new choice for Lianyungang’s citizens. In 2024, supported by the "two new" policies, new energy vehicles in our city continued to show robust double-digit growth. In particular, the growth rate of new energy vehicles in December exceeded 40%, demonstrating a strong growth momentum.

Meanwhile, our city has distributed 1 million RMB in online consumption vouchers on popular local online platforms such as "Liantianxia" and "Meicai Mall", striving to create an online promotion feast and allowing everyone to enjoy online shopping discounts. These "real money" preferential policies have not only stimulated consumers' shopping enthusiasm across the city but also injected fresh vitality into the consumer market during the Spring Festival. According to statistics, the platforms drove approximately 20 million RMB in consumption during the Spring Festival, up 43% year on year.
